- $fafWhere's the full screen mode?
- ==============================
- Press "Enter" on the keypad during play for full screen thrills.
- Unfortunately you will have to put up with 4*4 pixels and no ammo or
- health bars.
-
- What About the 8 channel surround sound?
- ========================================
- Team 17 say that they encountered problems with this feature so it was
- disabled before release, but they will be distributing a software patch
- to re-enable it with the demo of AB3D2.
-
- Why Does It crash when I press "J" for Joystick control?
- =========================================================
- Erm, because Team 17's HD installer is crap. You will need to copy the
- "lowlevel.library" from your AB3D libs drawer to your workbench libs
- drawer, and all will be fine and dandy.

- ==========
- Just spray them liberally with the machine gun, or if you find a room
- full of the little bastards, lob in a grenade, then run away quickly and
- listen to the nice "splat" sound effect as their guts repaint the walls.
-
- Alien Blokes With Machine Guns
- ==============================
- One hit with the shot gun will do the trick here, or a few machine gun
- shells. The Plasma gun will kill them to, but it is harder to aim, and
- the blobs take to long to get any where, unlike the shot gun which is
- quick and has a wider coverage.
-
- Alien Blokes With Plasma Guns
- =============================
- You can quite easily be killed if only a few of these chaps gang on you.
- The shot gun is the best weapon here, requiring 2 hits. You can also
- use the plasma gun if you want. The machine gun isn't really up to it.
-
- Nasty Multicoloured Alien Blokes
- ====================================
- Similar to the above, but will require about 3 hits. Quite rare.
-
- Floating meatballs
- ==================
- Find some cover and then keep running out and getting a couple of shots
- in, then ducking back before they shoot you. Repeat until they die.
- You can use any of the first three weapons, but I usually use the plasma
- gun as it has a quick fire rate, so you can despatch a number of shots
- before sidestepping for cover.
-
- Ugly Green and Pink Worms
- =========================
- Very tough, and very deadly. These things spew out green plasma blobs,
- so cover is esential. Kill them in a similar way to the meat balls, but
- you may want to use a grenade or a rocket or two. Only use a grenade if
- you are the right distance from the nasty, and aim carefully before
- using a precious rocket. You will hear a splat if you were successful,
- but you will need about 4 good rocket hits to kill it, or about 10-20 of
- plasma shots.
-
- Tree Stump Men With Floating Eyeballs Coming Out The Top
- ========================================================
- Tree stump men are also very hard, although they don't actually shoot at
- you, but instead lots of eyeballs come out of the top and fire red fire
- balls at you. Each floating eyeball requires one hit from the plasma or
- shot gun to die. The main tree stump probably requires a similar number
- of hits to the worm things. Grenades and rockets are useful as they
- will kill all the eyes as well as harming the main body.
-
- Dreadnaught ED-209 Type Blokes
- ==============================
- One of these blokes appears in the centre of the main room on level 8 as
- soon as you pick up the yellow key at the end of the level. After you
- have marvelled at the 3D texture mappedness of him, you will probably be
- dead, so before you pick up the key get your bearings and plan your
- route up to the ledge which overlooks the main battle arena, via the
- lifts in the first room. Pick up all the weapons in the room, and then
- as soon as you get the key, leg it up to the ledge.
-
- Unless you have already nicked it, there should be a first aid kit on
- the ledge, so save this for emergencies. If you can't see the monster
- then fire a couple of times until he comes running. Fortunately his
- only weapons are grenades which he constantly spews out and on the ledge
- you will be fairly safe from them, although you can sometimes be caught
- in the blast, so if he is underneath you, run to the other end of the
- ledge.
-
- The most effective weapon is the grenade, just lob a few down every now
- and then, making sure he is the right distance away. Luckily he will
- give you a helping hand by hitting himself with his own grenades.
- Killing him will take a very long time. If you run completely out of
- all types of ammo, make a mad dash to the centre of the room where you
- will find some goodies, or be patient, avoid the grenade blasts and wait
- for him to kill himself. I would estimate it takes between 20 and 40
- grenade or rocket hits to kill him.
-
- Once he's dead the key to the exit will appear in his remains and you
- can progress to the next level. I don't know wether he makes any more
- appearances in the later levels, or even his big brother.
-
- $fff(Freak/NFA adds: My way is even simpler but a bug in the game means you
- run the risk of it crashing. When you pick up the key and release the
- robot, let him come into the room with you, then run like hell round
- him, up the steps, out the door and off to one side. You'll find that
- the robot can't get back up the steps and you can lob handfuls of
- grenades through the door at an angle, and there's nothing he can do
- about it but scream and rant and rave...)
